Nah, it's because Nirvana is fuckin garbage band. Nevermind is an OK but massively overrated album and the bulk of their other material is pure shit. At least with Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl has shown that there was talent in the band but because they just recorded all the shit songs Cobain wrote it never showed at that time. I still remember a smile coming over my face when I heard a DJ on the local rock station announce Cobian's death.

That's a weird thing to say. Sure, Nirvana were the most "iconic" of those bands, but it's not like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam languished in obscurity.

I feel like when it comes to Nirvana, people see their opinion of a band, not the one that actually existed. Their early stuff was noisy and kind of dumb for the most part, but Nevermind and In Utero are highly polished, well-written rock albums.

And please don't come at me with that "Kurt's lyrics were stupid/made no sense," because I will find a dozen examples from your favorite metal bands that are far more idiotic.

Yeah, I don't know many people who actually like Nirvana who prefer Nevermind to In Utero.

As for Green Day, I'm not really going to fight that one. It's mostly a nostalgia thing for me now, and the vast majority of their post-American Idiot material is utterly indefensible, so I can understand that one a lot more
