I thought this would be the exception.

I'm glad they kept the tone from the Heaven and Hell stuff. Shit was brutal in an awesome Sabbath way. It sounds good enough to me for a radio single. I have high expectations for this album

Radio stream is super compressed. iTunes is live though. Album pre-order nets you "God is Dead?" now, or you can buy just the track. I'll buy it tomorrow and listen on my studio monitors and pull it up in Pro Tools and see how the compression looks in terms of whether it's mastered too hot.

I'm really loving this! I feel exactly like I'm listening to the first 2 Sabbath albums. I absolutely can't wait to hear the rest!

It's the engineers Rick employs that ruin his albums, not Rick himself. Rick is good at getting the artist in a place where they recognize and cultivate what makes them great. It's the reason why creatively speaking, albums produced by Rick Rubin are often considered comebacks or career highlights. His engineers though, are a whole other story. There's a reason why Reign in Blood is considered a sonic masterpiece and Death Magnetic is anything but that even though Rick produced both of those albums. Anyone with Google at their disposal should be able to figure out the specific reason why those albums sound the way they do.

I like this much more than I had expected. Looking forward to hearing a better quality copy.

Yeah its pretty boring. Maybe it'll grow on me. Ozzy fixed up vocals are the main things that bugs me. I'll admit towards the 6 min mark it got way better. But the whole beginning just sounds like a new typical Ozzy solo song. I feel like he got on drugs and ruined his marriage for nothing. Him getting fucked up made me think he was gonna sound better. NOPE! IDk,we'll see.

Nearly all of Ozzy's solo work from Ozzmosis onwards sounds 100% more doctored than this.

I hear a slight reverb/echo effect and some double tracking in spots, but nothing more. Ozzy solo from 1995 onward sounded nearly auto-tuned.
