Oh yea, I mean look at how much the first Hobbit film grossed due to hype alone ($1 billion), that was only 9 years after LOTR. It's been 10 years since Revenge Of Sith and 32 years since Return Of The Jedi (which seeing as this is following that movie the hype is more rooted in that than in Sith). LOTR is my favorite movie trilogy, but Star Wars is slightly more iconic, not by a giant mark, but it definitely spans more generations than LOTR does.
