Indeed. Saw it this weekend and loved it. Hardy and Gandolfini were both excellent, as was the rest of the cast all around. Great story, excellent sense of atmosphere...a great film in every way. Highly recommended.

I also saw "The Equalizer" the same night. It was interesting. If the plot had kept its feet closer to the ground, I think I might have liked it more, but the constant escalation and the place it finally ended up were just a bit fantastical for me. Still, not a bad film. I love Washington in almost everything he does, but I especially like seeing him in roles like this. He does it often, but I never seem to tire of it. Also, Fincher's signature touches made it a bit more interesting as well. Recommended if you like seeing very bad people get what's coming to them in very bloody, violent ways.

The Equalizer pissed me off because while the action scenes were brilliant, the story took up way too much time and wasn't that interesting. It's certainly not a bad film because of the brutal action sequences (the hardware store standoff at the end was fucking INTENSE) and Denzel Washington is great per usual, but it was still disappointing due to the lackluster story and incredibly slow pacing.

Just saw Gone Girl, movie of the year for me so far. Love Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross work on the soundtrack as well.

Gone Girl is by far the best movie of 2014 so far. I honestly haven't stopped think about it since I saw it last night. If Rosamund Pike doesn't win an Oscar, I'll be ripshit.

Yeah, she did a great performance so she should be nominated at the very least. So should Trent & Atticus for the OST. Honestly, it sounds very silent hill-esque and similar to A Warm Place which is fantastic.

Saw Annabelle tonight, and I'd give it a 4/10.

The Conjuring is, in my opinion, the best horror movie to be released in the 2000s. This Annabelle movie though, everything about it just screams cash in. She was creepy in The Conjuring, but a whole movie about her just didn't work. The "scares" could be seen from a mile away, and not once did I jump, or even get mildly startled. I still have faith in The Conjuring sequel next year though.

Seeing Gone Girl next weekend, can't wait for that one!
