High On Fire -- Morgantown, WV -- April 5th, 2010
Bison BC: Haven't given these guys a good listen yet, but their live performance really sealed the deal. Great openers despite there being only around 15-20 people inside at this point.. Set was the same as Columbus, I assume..
Slow Hand of Death Take the Next Exit Wendigo, Part 1 Stressed Elephant These Are My Dress Clothes Black Cobra: Didn't really do a whole lot for me. Had some nice grooves at various points, but just didn't stick out. But their drummer seems like a pretty awesome dude - especially with his Saint Vitus T-shirt/Saint Vitus Hoodie back-to-back ensemble. Once again, same set.. Omniscient Machine Negative Reversal Below the Cusp Lightning in His Hand Chronosphere The Sapphire Falcon Red Tide Five Daggers Storm Shadow Priestess: I saw these guys last May when they opened for GWAR, coincidentally the night of my senior prom, and the set seemed Prior To The Fire-heavy then, and it's only gotten moreso now. Still, really great energy, riffs and beards of course. Still no "Lay Down" in the sets. The Gem Sideways Attack Two Kids Communicating Via-Eyes It Baffles the Mind Lady Killer Lunar I Am the Night, Colour Me Black The Firebird Trapped In Space & Time High On Fire: Matt Pike is God, what more can be said? These guys just ruled ass as headliners, I hope these guys really go places as support for Metallica, because I've seen very few bands that supply the energy and the lumbering riffage like these guys. Frost Hammer Devilution How Dark We Pray Hung, Drawn & Quartered Rumors of War The Yeti Fire, Flood & Plague / Fireface (?) Cometh Down Hessian Blood from Zion Fury Whip Snakes for the Divine --- Bastard Samurai Firespitter was on the set as the last song but wasn't played... |

Don't see many WV sets on here. Would've liked to see this but I'm a bit too far south. What part of the state are you from?

^LOL good one Maiden
![]() I think the reason Priestess doesn't like playing "Lay Down" is because it was on Guitar Hero III. They probably assume most people played the game and don't want to rely on just that song to make a name for themselves. However, it's a killer track and would rock live! |

I actually drove down from Pittsburgh PA to see it. Sucks that the tour couldn't stop up there, but it was only an hour drive from where I was it. And yeah, I can't imagine that WV really gets much else aside from a few random periodical small-market stops...

I'm guessing this will stick for most of the tour, I'll be stoked as long as we get the Fireface/Cometh combo.
