Not a bad song. I had a hard time getting into the album fully, because somebody told me they sounded a lot like Meshuggah, and so I listened to the album with very high expectations. Needless to say, they are no Meshuggah, but they're not the worst thing I've ever heard, either. They sound like Meshuggah-meets-Pantera to me. Textures may get a bit funky with the time signatures from time to time, but Meshuggah is much more esoteric...and WAY the fuck heavier.

That was my main thought while I was listening to the album. I had read about the Meshuggah reference as well, but the only thing that sounded like Meshuggah was the guitars every now and then. I was expecting something along those lines mixed with a little bit of Mnemic, Sybreed, Threat Singal, Periphery, etc... but it wasn't even close. The vocalist sounds A LOT like Devin Townsend to me when he's not growling. I also thought a little bit of Cynic was seeping through and I wouldn't be surprised since Cynic has a song called Textures. But overall, I enjoyed it immensely. I think the more I listen to it, the more it will stick.
