I loved Darkest Hour! I'm a big fan since about 5 years and they played impeccably, John's voice sounded better than on cd (especially for the older songs; the ones on the new album were just flawless) and they had tons of energy, even if there were very few people that seemed to be really enjoying them. I don't understand why people don't like them now, because at Summer Slaughter 2009 there were tons of people moshing and headbanging to their music. Maybe the metal scene is just slowly dying here in Montreal...

I can't see Doomsayer as a set closer. Sure it's probably the best song I've heard by Darkest Hour but that song is the opener of openers.

In Chicago it seemed Darkest Hour got the worst crowd support out of all bands but they were still decent just not a huge fan.

And about meeting the bands: Fleshgod did their merch table the entire time and I met them and got a signed cd. Chris Barnes did a autograph session but the line was insanely long. Powerglove after their set came out to their table and signed everyones stuff. I got my ticket signed and most people were having them sign dollor bills. I know most of the bands were just walking around and during Fleshgod Trevor stood on the balcony and watched and waved to the crowd. Also the lead singer of As Blood Runs Black just walked around all day and during BDM I looked to my left in the crowd and he was standing right next to me with his girlfriend so you do have a good chance of meeting most of the bands.
