Testament -- Tempe, AZ -- February 1st, 2013
A fantastic show! Same Overkill set as the previous nights, they definitely converted me into a big fan, since I hadn't really checked them out beforehand. Testament was fantastic as always, with a slight change up in the set from the first two nights. Also, Over the Wall wasn't played, like last night in Anaheim, so maybe that's going to be a special occurrence.

Trading Evil Has Landed for Trial By Fire huh? I'll happily take either song. I think a changing setlist may be something to expect on this tour, I remember their setlists were relatively unpredictable on their last headlining run four years back.

Yeah I was expecting to hear Evil and they started playing the intro for TBF instead and i was like YEAH! The non-consistent encore makes things interesting as well.

So far I can also see the encore being a special Bay Area thing as well. Apparently the turnout was great and the crowd was insane for that show.

The Evil Has Landed was the additon to the set I was most excited about. They should've dropped Riding The Snake for Trial By Fire instead. Snake is a good song but it's not one that's anywhere near the top of my list when it comes to what I want Testament to do the most. The Evil Has Landed is though.
At least Evil and Trial is a pretty even trade.

I'm surprised Trial By Fire doesn't get played more often since it's one of their more well known songs. The video got some good rotation on headbanger's ball back in the day.

Yeah, I'm glad they're playing it but the definitely should have dropped More Than Meets the Eye or Formation instead because they always play those. And because Formation sucks.

I think More Than Meets The Eye should stick around. After all, it was their big comeback song so it has huge significance for the band and it's fans. I like Formation but it shouldn't be the last song. Something older should close out the show. Trial By Fire would be perfect.

I like Eye a lot but if I had to pick I'd take Evil this tour for sure. And yeah, I'll never understand why they play Formation last.
