Can you recommend any albums from these bands?

Following bloodstock I saw a lot of these bands on shirts, a couple are playing in London over the next few months. So any 'classic' or 'quality' albums from these would be greatly appreciated....

Havok

Destruction

Xentrix

Sodom

Cheers guys!

For Sodom, I would go with Persecution Mania, its one of my favorite thrash albums. If you like blackened thrash stuff, In the Sign of Evil is also amazing.

Just do the "deeerrrr, first two albums are the best" thing everyone else does with thrash bands.

Considering that first album by Sodom is Obsessed By Cruelty, that "thing" doesn't really work.

Depends on what elitist you ask. General rule of thumb is the third album was too mainstream/wasn't noisy enough (read: production actually sounded good)/too technical/not technical enough. I couldn't disagree more, generally, but hey, I was born after the golden era of thrash/death metal, what could I possibly know.

And you've honestly never heard anyone say that's their best album?
