The Goddamn Gallows -- Corona, CA -- June 13th, 2014

venue: M15
source: me

Holy shit!! Last night was so much fun!! It was my 11th time seeing the Gallows, but definitely the best show I've been to. I was celebrating my graduating college with them. They played Smoke Satan Worship Crack as a gift to me. I drank way too much whiskey, but that just made it more fun! The only let down was that the security walked up to the mic at the beginning of Load Yer Guns and told everyone that they had to stop moshing or the show would get shut down. People started moshing harder cause of that, but then stopped a few minutes later.

nice show, always a good time with these guys. next time around will have to talk to mikey about their setlists. they need to mix it up a bit. take say 25-30 songs on the road while playing about 18 a night. hopefully they will hit memphis and nashville again prior to muddy roots. that's awesome about smoke satan, have not been lucky enough the last few times.

I think it would be awesome to have more variety in their sets, but I get what they are doing right now. They played the shit out of Gutterbilly Blues and Ghost of the Rails for years that they don't like playing those songs anymore. They will never play anything off of Life of Sin. They really like how their sound is at the moment with Joe on Banjo and they are stoked on the new album that they want to play as much new material as possible and then fill the rest with mostly 7 Devils songs. I wish they would pick more from GB and GotR, but we probably won't see it soon. The show is still damn fun.

i love the new album, wish they would play more. for instance: 'A' nights play howlin wind, 'B' nights play ol dusty trail. just knowing that you don't know exactly what you will get makes it more fun. the anticipation of the first notes of the next song. as for Life of Sin, picked that up a few weeks ago, some of it is pretty good, the recordings are pretty rough quality for the most part. but it doesn't sound like they do today.

I would rather they swapped Save Yourself and Ol Dusty Trail. I think its cool how Baby G gets his final two songs as the front man. I also would like them to swap Copper King and Cold and Deep or Demon in the Night.
